BMD Cost Breakdown
Dexa Bone Mineral Densitometry is covered by your Medical Services Plan. If any of these indications are applicable, see your physician for a referral.
Indications:
• Low trauma fractures
• Steroid therapy (including 6 month follow up)
• Hyperparathyroidism
• Strong family history of osteoporosis
• Pre-treatment assessment
• Follow up measurements after treatment
• Others (Please see physician)
For any other purposes including menopause, you may pay privately at a cost of $115 for two testing sites and $80 for just one. BMD can also be combined with DEXA Body Composition testing at a private cost of $180.
